General Scheme
In the General Scheme, students can fulfill the MKPB (Free Elective Courses) portion by choosing independently from
- MKPB provided by PS-ME (31 courses available)
- Other study programs (minimum 6 credits or 2 courses, maximum 12 credits)
- MKU (maximum 6 credits
Minimum requirements for MKPB General Scheme
- Two courses from other study programs and 23–25 credits of MKPB from PS-ME, or
- Two courses from other study programs, maximum 6 credits of MKU, and 17–23 credits of MKPB from PS-ME
PS-ME also provides service courses for students from other study programs as part of their MKPB.
The total credits for the general scheme are 34 credits for MKWI + 81 credits for MKWP + 29 credits for MKPB
Specialization Scheme
The Specialization Scheme is designed to give students the option to specialize in specific areas of meteorology. This allows them to develop specific skills that can be used for employment or further education. Students who pass the Specialization Scheme will be assigned a specialization designation on their academic transcripts. The ME-PS offers eight specialization packages designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of meteorology. The eight specialization packages are as follows:
1. Atmospheric Science
The Atmospheric Science specialization package is the primary specialization expected of PS-ME students. Students who choose this package are directed to become atmospheric researchers and/or continue their education in atmospheric science. This package focuses on atmospheric research and analysis, making it a potential alternative to the General Scheme.
