As part of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the vision and mission of the Meteorology Study Program are the embodiment of ITB’s vision and mission, namely “To become a superior, dignified, independent, and globally recognized university and to guide changes that can improve the welfare of the Indonesian nation and the world.” This vision is realized by ITB by carrying out its main mission to create, share and apply science, technology, art and humanity and produce superior human resources to make Indonesia and the world better.

- Guide, study, develop, and implement appropriate geoscience and technology according to Indonesia’s needs.
- Build international collaboration networks with leading universities, renowned research centers, and other strategic institutions at home and abroad to foster sustainable collaboration in geoscience and technology
To achieve the visions of the missions of both Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Faculty of Earth Science and Technology, and considering the mandate of ITB Senate Decree (SK SA No. 11/SK/I1-SA/OT/2012) to change the teaching paradigm into student-centered learning and outcome-centered learning, the Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Undergraduate Program in Meteorology focus on producing skilled graduates to become reliable professionals, leaders, and agents of change in society, governmental agencies, and organizations. The graduates are prepared to meet the highest standards to work in both operational meteorology and industrial fields related to weather and climate. The PEOs in this program are described in details as follows.
- Through the mastering of basic principles in meteorology and climatology, graduates are able to become a professional in operational meteorology and industrial fields related to weather and climate risks (e.g. renewable energy, hydro-meteorological hazard and disaster, climate change), and to pursue a career as researcher in atmospheric science field.
- Graduates are able to contribute in solving hydro-meteorological disasters and environmental related issues to support a sustainable development.
- Graduates uphold great ethics in professional and academic fields and are capable of creative and critical thinking.
- Graduates are capable and open for improvement by pursuing higher education in both local and foreign institutions/universities.
The PEOs above are formulated after extensive reviews and inputs from academic staffs of the Undergraduate Program in Meteorology, alumni, professionals, and Planning Accreditation Board (PAB). The PEOs are also relevant with the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI).
