Introduction to FITB Study Programs at ITB Open House 2023 – Day 2

BANDUNG, meteo.itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) once again held an open house event aimed at introducing its study programs to high school students interested in pursuing higher education, particularly at ITB.

Embracing the #FutureTogether spirit, the Meteorology study program—under ITB’s Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology—participated in this open house. On the second day, the Meteorology program was presented in person by its Head, Dr. Muhammad Rais Abdillah, S.Si., M.Sc. A comprehensive overview was provided, covering everything from the definition of meteorology and the curriculum to interdisciplinary connections, student achievements, and career prospects.

This ITB open house went beyond mere information sessions; it featured booths designed to help students learn about ITB’s study programs in an engaging way. The Meteorology program, for instance, hosted an entertaining “cloud-naming” game: students first received a briefing on cloud types from ITB Meteorology students and were then challenged to identify specific cloud formations within a set timeframe. In addition to the game, the booth provided explanations regarding the Automatic Weather Station (AWS), covering its definition, component details, and overall function.

The FITB ITB #FutureTogether open house aimed to satisfy the curiosity of high school students and expand their knowledge of study programs at the Bandung Institute of Technology—particularly the Meteorology program within the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology. Ultimately, the event sought to empower these students to become the nation’s future leaders with bright prospects ahead.
